The policy is denominated in either Swiss francs or US dollars, the reporting currencies. The mutual funds invest in assets in a diversified range of currencies. You will receive a report on your portfolio's currency allocation with your policy. 2. When do I receive an account statement? Upon receipt of your single premium, mutual fund shares are purchased. You will receive a Policy Investment Summary with your contract. Your portfolio is rebalanced quarterly, if needed. Account statement are sent quarterly. 3. What are the fees involved? There are usually no up-front fees. Annual investment management fees are based on the portfolio selected. Please refer to our page of Fees and Charges for details. 4. Can a managed variable annuity protect my assets from lawsuits and seizure arising from bankruptcy and estate settlements? The laws governing your variable annuity protect insurance policies in a singular manner. Unlike any other investment, these insurance policies, if properly structured, cannot be included in any bankruptcy or court judgment on a liability claim. Your annuity can be made judgment proof. 5. Can I make partial or full withdrawals? Yes, you can make partial of full withdrawals at any time. Surrender charges apply for full withdrawals, but are nil after 5 years. Please consult our fee schedule for the charges. You also need to be aware of any adverse tax consequences for early withdrawal. 6. Can I increase my investment? You may at any time, make additional payments. 7. Can a legal entity be the owner of the certificate? Any legal entity such as a trust, corporation, pension plan, foundation or establishment can be the Owner as well as Beneficiary of the annuity certificate. Just send us a copy of the Trust Agreement or Deed of Incorporation. |
